Our association with Warrington Wolves has proven to be beneficial, enabling us to increase our brand awareness substantially. We are looking forward to another successful season, working with Warrington Wolves and are sure that our professional working relationship will only develop further.
We would like to thank all our customers and suppliers for their custom and support throughout 2010.
Best Wishes for Christmas and New Year.
ECO WIND blows again Enspec Power have successfully completed numerous Power Factor Correction (PFC) retrofits at various UK wind farms into various types of wind turbine generators (WTG’s). We developed the retrofit system as a high performance alternative to systems available from some of the major turbine manufacturers. Our experience and technology has resulted in substantial savings to windfarm developers. Kelly Dallas, Operations Manager at Eco Wind Power says, “Enspec under-promised and over-delivered on this work. A highly proficient team of individuals that provided a cost-effective solution to Eco Wind Power.” Angus Ward at Shetland Aerogenerators is also happy with the retrofit work done on his turbines and all his turbines are now working well.

ENSPEC POWER AWARDED CARBON ACTION STANDARD
Enspec Power Ltd has been certified to The Carbon Action Standard. Enspec Power has undergone a thorough assessment of its carbon footprint by the Centre for Assessment & Recognition Ltd.
CARBON ACTION is all about encouraging organisations to take action to reduce the amount of energy they consume, enabling them to lower their carbon footprint and save money. The indicators for the standard outline what you need to achieve but not how to do it, ensuring that each organisation identifies their priority areas for carbon reduction and takes action to address these.
“The independent review against our action plan has helped us to highlight areas for improvement thus helping us to aim at reducing our carbon footprint per capita by a minimum of 5% year on year. We would encourage other organisations to use the standard as a way of showing their commitment to reducing their energy consumption.”

One, Two, Three, Testing…
Winder Power has recently installed an in-house test facility that has proven to be a great success. The new facility enables Winder Power to undertake full load tests on all of its manufactured transformers that range from 100kVA-60MVA up to 66kV.
As part of this considerable investment, the factory’s incoming power supply had to be upgraded and substantial reactive power compensation was needed in order to perform transformer short-circuit testing. Several companies were approached but following in-depth discussions and an exacting specification, Enspec Power won the contract to supply and commission a VArComp® 20MVAr capacitor rack.
David Jones, joint MD at Enspec, said, “This was a really interesting project to be involved with from the start and to win it against some stiff competition makes it all the sweeter. Following some weeks of discussions with the customer, we had to listen very carefully to exactly what Winders wanted to achieve and were finally awarded the contract on the basis of our technically versatile solution and quick lead-time that we actually managed to better!”
The versatility of the VArComp® 11kV rack provides the test facility with a fantastic range of reactive compensation from 0.25-20MVAr in selectable 250kVAr increments to cater for the wide ranging transmission and distribution transformers that Winder Power manufacture.
Paul Matthews, General Manager at Winder Power, said, “Enspec offered the best all round solution to our needs. Whilst being competitive on price they also provided a technical offer that matched our requirements. The capacitor bank was delivered ahead of schedule and has worked perfectly since. I would have no hesitation in using Enspec again or recommending them to any prospective customer.”
Crosfield Cobras are fortunate to be sponsored by Enspec Power, Steve Jones stepped forward almost a year ago now, and offered the support of Enspec. With that sponsorship we have managed to obtain a brand new team strip, which our players are proud to wear and have worn with great success, having only been defeated three times in the season. We have also played at the Halliwell Jones Stadium three times and also at Headingley for the Leeds v Warrington Match.
Steve has provided more than just sponsorship, he is an Assistant Coach, First Aider and the guy that gets the parents to pay the subs which the club relies on, he gives his time freely, usually with a smile on his face, he also allows us the pleasure of his son Marshall as a player, a real character who always puts a smile on the spectators faces.
From the Cobras and the management team we would like to offer our thanks for all Steve’s efforts, it is people like Steve, and companies like Enspec that help to keep the amateur clubs going. Well Done.
